The sand crinkled and fells away easily under the boys feet, his weight sending flecks of sand cascading along the wind song, only to land with a light plop back into their sand brethren again. With a bored expression upon his face, the tanned boy gazed bleakly into the Hawaiian waters that lapped lazily against the shore. A breeze casted across the deserted beach, sending the water crashing forward with small waves. The boy tucked his digits into his pockets, jangling the assorted coins that made their home in there. He let his bare toes seep into the sand, his light blond hair shifting with the wind. A sigh brushed through his mouth as his sea-green eyes darted from dune to dune, awaiting some one to jump out of no where and intrude upon the peace. He winced slightly as the water lolled across his toes, not expecting its warmth. He gazed at his feet which were now attracting clumps of sand. Sighing inward, he threw off his white T and placed his footfalls at a steady run, he came careening into the water with even splashes, the warmth leaked through his shorts surrounding his legs. He could plainly see the reef far ahead. He dived into the motionless water, his powerful arms moving him ahead. The 15-year old's eyes lifted their lids, gazing across the lucid water around. It was clear, as if a note from a silver bell. The watter tugged lightly at his hair, but urged him on. Fish skimmed by his toes as he pushed onward, down further. Though his lungs wracked for air and he pushed off the nearest rock, the water seeping through his tanned toes his mouth could already taste the essential first breath. His lungs gave another scream. His body began to ache powerfully. His water parted and his head broke the surface. Gulping down the most air he could, Terry breathed deeply. The sun beat down upon his face and the turquoise water. A smile lifted his lips as he floated closer and closer to shore upon his back. The water pushed his body further closer slowly, whispering in his ear. He felt at peace. Finally.
