Trinity shook the water from her white spotted coat as she climbed onto the riverbank from a bath. Her ears swiveled back and forth listening for anything dangerous and her nose twitched. She smelled something weak and old. Prey.
Trinity burst into a galloping run as a grey speckled deer appeared from the bushes. Newfound strength coursed through her veins as she tracked her prey, zigzagging through bushes. She thought about what had happened to cause her to be on this deserted island, hunting unknown animals over unknown land...
Thunder crashed and lightning split the sky. The ship, so huge when it had been docked, was tossed about like paper. The wind roared and waves splashed over the deck as crew members, as small as bugs, tried to keep the ship afloat. In the cabin, the captain and his skipper were debating what to do. "It's no good," said the skipper. "We should order everyone off the ship while we're still afloat." The captain was silent for what seemed like a long time. Then he nodded.
In the hold...
A small hyena cub shivered. She pressed up against her mother, hoping for a drop of milk, a shred of warmth, anything. But it was no use, and the hyena cub shivered again. A square of light penetrated the darkness. The hyena cub could make out figure and the square closed up again. The hyena heard footsteps, then metal on metal. The figure came to the hyena cub's cage and unlocked. "I hope you can swim," he murmured then left.

The large, female dingo rustled the bushes nearby, the prey running away. Bounding on tall legs, she brought her jaws down on it, and went back to the cub. She threw it over to the cub with a swing of her huge head, and before the pup could run off, She looked down. "You're welcome. But next time, you're on your own unless something else attacks threateningly. I am everywhere." She said, slitted eyes narrowed. She bounded off into the bushes.

A tall, female wild dog raced around the bushes chasing after a hare. She was persistence not giving up easily, as she bolted around the bushes tightly. Taking large strides, as she caught up to the hare and leap on it delivering a killing blow to the neck. Once she caught her breath again, she picked the hare up in her jaws and carried it some where safe to eat it.
